The bank released it into circulation on 1 July 2009. The note itself bears the year of issue «2009».
The obverse shows at the top the inscription «КЫРГЫЗ БАНКЫ», the signature of the Chairman (Төрага) of the National Bank and the serial number in red; on the left a portrait of Togolok Moldo, the Kyrgyz akyn, poet and educator, with the inscription «Тоголок Молдо 1860-1942» — the portrait is built up from microprinted repetitions of the name, and the lines to its right read «КЫРГЫЗ БАНКЫ» under magnification; below the portrait the inscription «ЖЫЙЫРМА СОМ», and the numerals «20» in the upper left and lower right corners; to the right of the portrait is a komuz. The reverse shows at the top the inscription «КЫРГЫЗ БАНКЫ» and the numerals «20», at the centre Tash Rabat, one of the oldest structures of the Great Silk Road in Kyrgyzstan; on the vertical ornamental band to the left the numeral «20» and the inscription «ЖЫЙЫРМА СОМ». The main scene is built up from stylised micro-images of plants, and the monument, as on every note of the series, stands against the peaks of Kyrgyzstan — the bank explains that the figures on the notes reached the peaks of their calling. The year of issue «2009» is below. A banknote of the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic, the fourth series, the 2009 design.
The Kyrgyz som is collected by series and by design: the bank has changed the design six times, and one and the same denomination differs between designs in size, in security features and even in the scene on the back. UNC condition means the note has never circulated: no folds, no wear, no soiling, even corners — just as it left the press.
The VPcoins catalogue unites coins and banknotes from many countries and eras.
